4 Feb 2008 - Serrella Castle from Castells

Neither the Monday Club nor CBMW had done any walks from Castells for about a year, because the road had been closed for extensive road works. There is now an impressive new road for most of the journey, and we were delighted to be able to explore this lovely area once again.

We started from the camp site. It was very cold and windy, but we soon warmed up as we climbed, and climbed and climbed. The section leading to the foot of the castle was a very steep forestry commission type road. No one wanted to climb to the castle itself, because we were all too tired, and it was much too windy.

We had not done this walk before, but we shall certainly do it again. It has some of the best views of any of the walks we have done here.
